Metrological infrastructure (definitions, validated measurement and modelling methods) of dose for therapeutic ultrasound applications allowing appropriate treatment planning and risk assessment will be developed in this European project. Intercomparison of methods will formally evaluate the measurement methods and models developed, comparing their results. Application to clinical treatment will provide a direct link between the methods developed and the clinical use of therapeutic ultrasound with the long-term aim of improving treatment planning.
UME is WP7-impact work package leader in this project. UME has established a platform to share all documents between the project partners and collaborators. Impact will be increased by means of publications, web page applications, workshops and congresses. UME will developed methods for dose determination by means of measuring temperature effects and visual/optical of ultrasound in TMM (Tissue Mimicking Materials). UME will also participate the intercomparison of dose measurements. Detailed information about the project is available at www.duty-project.eu page.
